Numerous shallow water basins, fringed by reedbeds and dissected by a network of mud banks, wet-pasture, arable land, woodland, and scrub. An important site for breeding and staging numerous species of waterbirds with several pairs of raptors wintering here. The site is also very important for butterflies.
